When Socialism is implemented perfectly
Episode 888 When Socialism is implemented perfectly
President Trump verbally blew up the UN on Tuesday with a lot of his remarks, but one of my favorite comments was the one about socialism. Venezuela has been on a 40 plus year slide into socialism, and president Trump pointed out how faithful they have been to the ideas of socialism.
Whenever socialism is implemented politically and economically, the nation that follows this path will always fail. If they are one of the few nations who were fortunate enough to stop their slow slide into socialism, it takes years to recover and get back on track.
America has plenty of history to study to determine if socialism works or not. Yet we have a big portion of our society who see nothing wrong with socialism. We have politicians who have no problem using tax dollars to buy votes through social programs, and make those social programs sound good. We need to do a better job of preaching and teaching the virtues of capitalism, freedom, and liberty. If we fail to turn the hearts and minds of Americans away from socialism, we will end up in the ash bin of history.

Rights retained by the People
Episode 877 Rights retained by the People
One of the reasons the US Constitution was created was to secure the rights of the people. Not that our rights come from government, but rather the recognition that our rights proceed government!!! In today’s America, we seem to forget this most important point. Too many folks are trying to make everything a right, therefore nullifying actual rights!!!
The US Constitution was created because the Articles of Confederation failed. The AoC couldn’t protect our rights from our own government let a lone a foreign belligerent government!!! Under the AoC, the states didn’t have the means to even band together to put down a rebellion if one were to start!!!
I’m not saying that the US Constitution is perfect, but most of the folly of the federal government is do to the lack of attention by We the People. We have allowed the federal government to define it’s power for itself. The States created the federal government and it is the States and the People who should be the ones who define the powers set forth in the Constitution.

Is the Constitution Still Relevant?
Episode 886 It has been 230 since the signing of the US Constitution, and our Republic still stands. Our Republic is battered and bruised by political relativism, by trying to tell the people that it can’t possibly address the societal ills of the modern age.
The biggest problem is, we as a society have stopped teaching the Constitutional values that the framers had laid on in the US constitution. The principals of limited government, freedom and liberty have but been forgotten by today’s generation. Today’s generation has not been taught that we are a Republic not a Democracy. They hear talking point driven narratives by the anti-freedom crowd that we are a Democracy, and the people should vote by mob rule and allow a select few to govern the masses.
As Americans we have forgotten our heritage of freedom and liberty and bought into the notion that a few intellectual elites know best how we ought to live our live. I heard Ronald Reagan voice this very same opinion years ago. The framers of our Constitution knew better, and knew that Americans are the rightful captains of their own ships, and could decide right or wrong how to live their own lives in freedom, liberty and peace!!!

Constitutional government or Bureaucracies, which one is right? F4A Friday!!!
Episode 885 This question depends on your point of view. If you believe that the US Constitution is out dated and irrelevant for today, you would prefer bureaucracies. On the other hand if your a strict constructionist, and believe in original intent, then you prefer Constitutional government. But which one is right? Which view did the framers intend to create and bring into existence?
Looking at the Constitution through the eyes of the framers and the intent they sought to convey is the correct and only way to view the Constitution and the Republic it created. To look at the Constitution any other way would be relativistic in nature, and give folks the wrong idea about the Constitution.
It’s simple, the Constitution was created to keep the Federal government in check. In keeping with the context of the Constitution, it’s a limiting document therefore any statement made in the Constitution is limiting also. Americans have done great damage to our Republic over the years because they have ignored the limiting principals of our Constitution!!!

Ethical and Moral Relativism
Episode 884 Ethical and Moral Relativism
Ethical and Moral Relativism is the idea that our ethical and moral choices depend on the situation we find ourselves in when we need to make these choices. Some folks believe that a persons circumstances can dictate their morality and ethics. Is this right? Can we pick and choose what morals or ethics we use in any given situation?
Sometimes we know it’s not ethical to do something, but that doesn’t necessarily stop us from doing something that’s morally wrong. Maybe we need something someone else has, but our situation is such that we think we need it more than the other person, so we steal it. Folks justify their actions by using relativism, and rationalize away the harm done.
If there isn’t a standard of conduct that folks live by, it would just be the law of the jungle, dog eat dog world. If my morals are not absolute, and I can violate them any time I want, what is the use of having morals in the first place?
