Freedom of speech, war, taxes, and immigration
The news this week has been all over the board. Freedom of speech abuses in Berkly by the ATIFA groups, and the democrats led by Howard Dean are all for shutting down free speech that they don’t agree with.
We still don’t know who used the chemicals in Syria, and it doesn’t look like we are going to anytime soon. France says they will prove president Assad used the chemical weapons, but shouldn’t someone have already started the investigation days ago?
The IRS filing dead line was April 17 at midnight. Liberal groups across the country marched on Saturday April 15, but it wasn’t to protest taxes, they were protesting president Trumps refusal to release his taxes. Funny thing is, liberals don’t trust the government they love to do a good job investigating if there is any wrong doing in president Trumps tax returns. Folks you just can’t make this stuff up!!!
And the dreamer that is being deported, Mr Montes, isn’t exactly a law abiding citizen. Seems the left needs to dig deeper before they report on a story. The left never lets the facts get in the way of a good story!!!

Looks like it’s going to be a fun day looking at the news headlines for today. I do go and use left wing media outlets to see what they are saying about the news that is happening this week. Most of the time I get a good laugh out of their take, spin, and analysis.
The poor in GA are forced to pay fines or probation cost because of the crimes they commit, can’t pay the fine don’t do the crime!!!
The watermelon environmentalist are trying to get politically funded, consensuses seeking scientist out to march this Saturday April 22nd. What I find funny about all of this, there is so much misinformation being feed to the American public, folks have just checked out of the argument.
Anita Hill and Bill O’Reilly are both in the news, and sexual harassment is the issue of the day.
And finally, the ANTIFA USA groups need to look to Venezuela and see what president Nicholas Maduro is doing to his country, and I do mean his country. If you want to get your facts right, and I doubt that ANTIFA want’s to get their facts right because they don’t fit their narrative. What president Nicholas Maduro is doing is what fascism really looks like!!

Convention of States, this is important!!!
As we get further away in time from the framing of the United States Constitution, we see that the government that was established by the US Constitution is drifting further away from it’s constitutional constraints!!!
Social democrats would like nothing better than to do away with constitutional constraints on the federal government. Activist judges are their best allies when it come to making changes or stopping changes they disagree with. Freedom and liberty are anathema to them, and they will do anything to stop Americans from exercising their freedoms and liberties!!!
Congress and government in general will never vote away powers they have taken unconstitutionally!!! It is up to WE the People and the States that created the federal government in the first place to reign in the US federal government!!! An article V convention of states is the Peoples last best hope to take back our country from power hungry politicians and left wing social democrats!!!

Are war powers the same as a declaration of war?
There has been much controversy over this question and we are going to explore it on today’s show. I know folks want to streamline politics as much as possible, but to take something as important as committing our country to war, we need to slow down and take out time.
If the continental United states or her territories where attacked directly, you would find very few Americans who would disagree with a president, defending our country without a declaration of war. To repel an attack is in the purview of the commander and chiefs authority.
But if the continental United States or her territories is not directly attacked, does the same hold true? If an American interest over seas is attacked, can the president act without congressional approval? To go to war with a country to effect regime change, is that within congress’s or the presidents power?

The more things change, the more they stay the same
I think the world is going mad, at least this modern version of it. Most of the American people who voted for Donald Trump as president thought they were getting someone different, someone who would not make the same mistakes as other presidents in the past. They were hoodwinked!!!
How many countries are we going to pick a fight with? Lets try to count, Syria, Somalia, North Korea, ISIS (not a country but they act like one). We are still fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan, and it’s any ones guess for how much longer.
I had the smallest of hopes that President Trump would be different, would be able to go against the system. But it was just a small hope. My prayer is that Constitutionally minded folks will continue to speak up and oppose Americas foreign policies as they are today, and get us out of empire building and back to our roots of being friends to those who will accept us as friends, and only use military force to defend ourselves. Getting entangled in other countries internal affairs is a bad idea for all parties involved!!!

Knowing what we don’t know!!!

Today congress will try to vote on repealing Obamacare, and replacing it with Ryancare. A vast majority of Americans are concerned about the outcome of a vote on the ACA and repealing it.
For the sake of the constitution and America, the ACA needs to repealed without a replacement that keeps the government in charge of our healthcare. To do anything else would be to go back on campaign promises that were made to the American people, mainly to repeal Obamacare!!!
Anytime government tries to control anything that a sovereign individual should be taking care of themselves, it never ends well. In order for the government to handle stuff, freedom and liberty, of necessity, needs to be curtailed!!! This is the nature of government that is socialistic, freedom and liberty die, so safety and security imposed by the government can take it’s place.
There are no guarantees in life except from God. So knowing this how can anyone believe that government can guarantee anything will work if we just give them control?

The first thing we need to address is, are all beliefs equal? Are some beliefs based in facts and truth and others are not? Yesterday we looked at the difference in the Critical theory and the Socratic method. Critical Theory looks for facts in support of a conclusion already believed, and the other test beliefs, facts and truth to see if it can be supported in reality. I dare say most personally held beliefs fall in the first camp of a conclusion in search of facts.
Forcing what you believe to be true or factual on others is not the best way to get someone to change their minds. If you have to force your beliefs on anyone, are they worth supporting in the first place? Beliefs that are not based in real truths, facts and reality are not beliefs at all, but just fanciful wishes of the way some folks want things to be!!!

Why is there so much confusion with right and wrong?
There is so much confusion in America with what is right and what is wrong, that more than a few Americans have checked out of the daily debate on the issue.
Is there such a thing as objective truth? If there is objective truth, how do we know it to be the truth? Once objective truth is found, does that mean it can never be questioned? Do feeling have a part to play in finding objective truth? Do you see what I did there? Its called the Socratic method, and it is the best way to find objective truth. To have ones positions and truths challenged is the best way to see if they hold up as truth or just supposition.
Our children are not being taught the Socratic method in school anymore. They are taught the Critical theory method of finding the truth, which presupposes to know the truth already and looks for the facts that support their presuppositions. The facts usually turn out to be someone’s opinion that supports their presuppositions, or cherry picked facts to fit their presuppositions. With the Critical Theory method rarely are all the facts of a particular subject brought out to be discussed. Unwanted facts are usually ridiculed, or the one who brings out the facts are accused of a social injustice, that is false and cannot be quantified!!!

Liberty in America is under attack!!! Our freedoms are being replaced with what is good for the state!!! Logic and reason are being replaced with emotions and ethical humanism. Feelings are more important than truth and facts!!! We are living in a post-common sense era!!!
As far as religion is concerned, Americans have a pluralistic point of view, and one religion is as good or no different that any other, to each their own. Some Americans don’t see the harm in Islam, and will go against their firmly held beliefs to support Islam!!! Christianity is viewed with disdain by a lot Americans and see it as being forced upon folks!!!
As far as politics goes, freedom and liberty are viewed as being selfish and uncaring and needs to be curtailed!!! Most Americans are unconcerned or have no idea what true freedom and liberty entail, they take a live and let live attitude towards politics, economics and life in general!!!
As Walter E Williams talk about in a speech he gave recently, “if liberty dies in America, it will be dead for all times, everywhere.” As liberty and freedom loving Americans, we can’t sit idelly by and wait for someone else to defend and teach liberty and freedom, we need to start taking it to the streets and proclaim it to the masses, if we don’t we will doom not only our children to a bleak future, the world will loose that shinning city on the hill, and the light of freedom and liberty will go out, and the world will go into a darkness that will be seen by ALL!!!
