My thoughts on the election

This has been one of the most intense election I have ever seen. I started voting in 1984 and have seen a handful of presidential elections.

Folks are voting out of ignorance of facts or they just don’t care about the facts. Voting in America has become a full contact sport, and there are no rules. Our president is openly encouraging illegal aliens to vote. The Hillary campaign is involved in the cover up of corruption, and election rigging to the point some of her supporters in the lamestream media can’t support her anymore!!!

Some Trump voters are just as bad as Hillary voters, because they don’t see his “government can fix this” agenda. Both Trump and Hillary want to use government to fix the perceived ills of the nation, with out allowing the American people the liberty and freedom to control their lives and course in life!!!

Free-4-All-Friday!!! What kind of government are you voting for?

Next Tuesday people will go to the polls not as informed as they should be about our country, constitution, and the form of government we labor under. They will go to the polls and think that their candidate will do their bidding and force on their fellow citizens their ideology.

The American people for the most part will never think about how their vote will affect their liberty and freedom. The American voter has been conditioned to think that government is the answer to all their ills, or what they think are their neighbors ills are.

We are a representative Republic, created by the states and governed by the US Constitution. Your freedom and liberty are protected by that same Constitution. If we don’t start becoming informed before we vote we will soon look around us and wonder where America went. America didn’t leave us, we left America!!!

The nanny state!!!

My buddy Dave emailed me this the other day “I was listening to a BBC report on the pollution problem in China. The levels are almost, if not actually, lethal in many cities at certain times. The reporter said, “The government is going to have to do something.” The role of government is to make us do what we just won’t do under our own steam, even if it makes perfect sense, apparently. People in general, and corporations in particular, are evil. Government is our conscience, even our savior. (No, I don’t believe any of that, but it does seem to be the role we now want government to play.) I need the government to step in and make me eat right and exercise, because I just won’t do it on my own. We have given in to the idea that we need someone else to make us safe and healthy and even happy.”

My reply was this “Thanks for the insight, it does look like the “nanny state” is winning. I wish people would quit depending on anybody but God to direct their lives. We both made a choice to make God sovereign in our lives, and God gives us free will to order our lives as we see fit. As long as we follow his word and will we can live good lives!!! The state is ok as long as it doesn’t violate God’s law and principals for mankind!!! Being a good steward of what God has blessed us with, and that includes his created world, would be a better way to go. Being a good steward would respect the property rights of other, and be a better way to keep the environment clean and healthy!!!”

Who you vote for says a lot about you!!!

Some folks try to separate or compartmentalize their lives. We all have private lives we don’t want to share with the public. We also have a public persona we craft and show to the public. Then we have the truth about what and who we really are. This last one the public can see, will see and will make judgments about, right or wrong.

If we are not genuine with those we interact with, that will be seen in our behavior, and how we and why we do things. A good example is voting. In my humble opinion you can’t be a New Testament Christian and support candidates and politicians who violate God’s word and Biblical principles found in God’s word. If you choose to participate in politics, your choices will define you and show folks who you really are!

God knows your heart and knows who and what you are. Make wise, God centered choices!!!

Social democracies are not what they appear to be!!!

I have been talking about the Nordic model this week on the show. Our favorite democratic socialist uncle Bernie keeps referring to the Nordic model as something to emulate. My favorite socialist on Facebook also like the Nordic model, and never stops talking about it.

I have been doing some reading and research this week, and surprise surprise, the Nordic model is not all it’s cracked up to be! Forced child care by the state, because of the high tax rates, mothers can’t afford to stay home and take care of their children. They can’t even leave them with a relative, without government approval of the relative. There is a large underground cash economy to avoid taxes. And speaking of taxes, banks and corporations are relentlessly persuaded for tax evasion. Wait times for medical care are terrible, sometimes up to 24 weeks for the whole process of diagnosis to treatment.

Just a note about the happiness index. The two major factors in the happiness index are 1 trust in people, and 2 freedom of choice. I live in rural America and I get the trust factor. The one I don’t understand is the freedom to choose in the Nordic model. Because all the reading and research I have done on this leads me to conclude that the Nordic peoples choices are limited and defined by the government that they empowered to take care of them. They may be free to choose in their own minds, but do they? Do they choose to pay a 180% incise tax for a car? Do they get to choose their doctor? Can they opt out of the Nordic model if they want? Do they even know what true freedom and liberty are?

The state is getting out of control!!!

Almost every day now we see stories of how the “state”, local, state or federal, is infringing on our freedoms and liberties!!!

On yesterdays show episode 659 we talked about if it is the governments proper roll to regulate our God given rights. According to a proper reading of the US Constitution, they have no enumerated authority to do so. If they don’t have the authority, why are WE the People putting up with their law breaking?

Obamacare violates our freedom of choice for health care. States demanding sermons and study materials from preachers violates our 1st amendment rights. The freedom and liberty of the unborn child is being violated to the tune of 1.6 million abortions a year.

Folks if we do not rest control of our government back from those who abuse the authority granted to them as stewards of the people, we will only have ourselves to blame when we don’t have a country anymore that protects our rights, freedoms, and liberty!!!
