Whose money is it anyways?
No matter what your thoughts are about tax dollars, you will get a wide range of opinion on how it should be spent. There are two major schools of thought and they break down along party lines, the tax dollars belong to the government, and the tax dollars are the people’s and the government is just the stewards of those tax dollars.
Liberals believe the tax dollars are the governments to spend as directed by liberals for liberal cause, which usually amounts to virtue signaling. Liberals believe the “general welfare” means that tax dollars can be spent on any program to help anyone for any reason without any means testing.
Conservatives on the other hand view tax dollars as a trust we extend to our stewards in government, and they should be careful on what those tax dollars should be spent on. We are talking about the federal government in this case but it could be extended to state and local governments as well.
Bottom line is this some serious questions need to be ask and answered; Can the federal government act charitable on someone else’s behalf? If you don’t think it is charitable for the government to spend money, should you be forced to pay tax dollars to support it?

Freedom and Liberty or Social democracy? Ya can’t have both!!!
You can’t regulate happenstance out of life. Accidents happen, unforeseen illnesses happen, and things just go wrong as we live our lives the way we see fit!!!
Oh you can try to minimize risk, but in the final analysis life happens!!! Social democrats want to control the chaos, and the only way to accomplish this is to control people and what they can or can not do. Social democrats force people to believe the way they do so the control is easier. Allowing people to control their own lives is just foreign to their way of thinking!!!
Freedom and liberty is about taking care of oneself and family before anything else. After our basic needs are meet through personal industry, then and only then can we work to improve our community and society as a whole!!! Social democrats want us to take care of society first before anything else at the expense of community and family!!!

Today congress will try to vote on repealing Obamacare, and replacing it with Ryancare. A vast majority of Americans are concerned about the outcome of a vote on the ACA and repealing it.
For the sake of the constitution and America, the ACA needs to repealed without a replacement that keeps the government in charge of our healthcare. To do anything else would be to go back on campaign promises that were made to the American people, mainly to repeal Obamacare!!!
Anytime government tries to control anything that a sovereign individual should be taking care of themselves, it never ends well. In order for the government to handle stuff, freedom and liberty, of necessity, needs to be curtailed!!! This is the nature of government that is socialistic, freedom and liberty die, so safety and security imposed by the government can take it’s place.
There are no guarantees in life except from God. So knowing this how can anyone believe that government can guarantee anything will work if we just give them control?

The left and SCOTUS
It is amazing how the left want’s an activist judge on the bench at SCOTUS, but will not come right out and say it. The left want’s to control all aspects of government including SCOTUS, never mind that SCOTUS is an independent third branch of our federal government.
The confirmation hearings for judge Neil Gorsuch have been taking place this week and as predictable as the sun coming up in the east, there is a vast political divide in the senate judiciary committee. And just as predictable are the lefts questions that pander to their ill informed base.
I know this is a lifetime appointment (My hope is the convention of states can put term limits on SCOTUS) and great care should be taken, however to use your questions to scare your base into believing a lie about the constitution speaks volumes to a persons character, and those who keep voting them into office!!!

Unintended consequences
Everyday all across America folks make choices in their lives that affect how they live and maybe how someone else lives their lives. Some folks try to see every aspect of a situation, including the unseen and unintended consequences. We can’t know everything before we make a decision, but we try to educate ourselves to minimize any unintended consequences.
When we ignore the unintended consequences or the unseen we are bound to get in trouble to the point that someone has to bail us out. This is definitely true when it comes to going to college and borrowing money to do so. Having to barrow more money than you can pay back for an education is the very definition of a bad financial investment!!!

The Trump administration is showing a glimmer of hope when it comes to draining the swamp that is D.C. President Trump said during his campaign he would drain the swamp in D.C. And things are starting to happen.
The administration’s budget is cutting agencies completely and closing them down. Other agencies are seeing their budgets cut, and the left is going crazy!!! But something is happening with the budget cuts that the left doesn’t know how to handle, private citizens are stepping up and standing in the gaps of the budget cuts, go figure!!!
The left believes that only government can do what private charities and citizens used to do before the progressive left took over D.C. When Americans see a need that they are passionate about, they will give to make sure that need is met!!! This is something the left in this country doesn’t put a lot of stock in, mainly the American people helping others in their time of need.

What rights do illegal immigrants and refugees have in America?
Again we need to deal with the issue of rights and who has them. Everyone on God’s green have rights because God gave them to them. But does that mean they can exercise them anywhere they want without responsibility or consequences?
This is the question that needs to be answered when it comes to immigrants entering any country. Any country that has a working government has laws, or should have laws, governing immigration and citizens rights or the exercise of those rights. Just because you have rights, doesn’t mean that governments will recognize those rights, or let you exercise those rights. Only governments set up by the people (little d democracies), that are self governed by the people, will choose for themselves the freedom and liberty to exercise those rights.
Just because you want to go to another country doesn’t mean that country has to recognize your needs, wants or desires. Most countries will help out for humanitarian reasons, but most countries also knows the difference between a humanitarian need and an invasion.

Judicial overreach and the left
Do you want a liberal, leftist outcome for your political ideology? Then find a federal judge in the 9th circus court of appeals and you will get one. U.S. District judge Derrick K Watson put a hold on the latest EO from president Trump. Why is it that leftist will never try to change the law through the legislative process, but will run to the courts to have them legislate from the bench?
For the most part leftist are lazy when it comes to legislation. They will ram an unpopular law through congress if they think it will score them votes, no matter how much damage it will do to America, case in point Obamacare!!!
And if the leftist disagree with a law, no matter how constitutional that law may be, instead of amending the constitution, they will run to the courts and try to change it there, or at the very least stall the implementation of the law until the other side gives up. This is not how a Republic works, this is how a democratic tyranny works!!! WE, are a nation of laws enacted by men, not a nation of men who use the tyranny of the minority to get it’s way and thwart the law!!!

Best of Show episode 659-Can governments regulate God given rights?
I have had a nagging thought in the back of my mind about our God given rights, and the government trying to regulate them. I was listening to the krisannhall.com show where she was discussing the topic of regulating our rights, Hillary’s Emails & Regulating Rights. While discussing our rights she made the point that the government does not have any enumerated powers to regulate our rights!!! This was what was nagging me all these years, and I had fallen into the liberal trap that the government can reasonably regulate our rights.
Define for me what is reasonable? Show me where in the Constitution that any government has the authority to regulate our rights? Where do our rights come from? These are reasoned and reasonable questions that need answered, and the left has a lot to answer for with their power grab of our basic God given human rights!!!

Government, is it the end all be all of life?
In America today I have observed a lot of folks depending on government to define who they are and what they can or can not do!!! Some folks have a misguided notion about where our rights come from. There are two major schools of thought on this, one is that governments grant us our rights, and the other is that we have our rights as a blessing from God, or the natural law point of view.
Depending on government for everything, or just a portion of things you have is a very dangerous position to be in. At any moment the government can change and the whims of those in power can change what they give you. If on the other hand, if your rights predate government, they can’t be arbitrarily changed at a moments notice. I believe too many folks conflate rights with consequences for exercising our rights.
When governments dictate what rights the people have and how they will exercise those rights, then you are not living in freedom or liberty, you are living in a despotism!!!
