Episode 891 Why free speech in the work place is not absolute!!!
I am an advocate for free speech for everyone everywhere. Free speech is a fundamental right of mankind, and should not be restricted by any governmnet anywhere!!! As Americans we have 1st amendment protections on our speech, and we should defend this at all cost!!!
But free speech is not absolute, you don’t have the freedom to practice free speech anywhere you choose. One of the places in question today is, the work place. Do you have the freedom of speech while at work, especially when you work for someone else? I host a radio show. I own that radio show. On my radio show I stet the standards and rules. I don’t allow profanity, name calling, or personal attacks on my show. Do you as a caller have the right to circumvent my rules and standards?
The NFL is an association of business. Does the NFL have the right to tell the teams that make up the NFL how they should react to free speech and protesting? Or should the team owners themselves set the standard and rules for their team? Why can’t these rich 1 percenter players buy their own air time and practice their free speech and protesting?
The NFL and the teams that make up the NFL are a business. Their business is producing a product that fans will watch and pay money to watch. Fans want to watch football, not politics during a football game!!!
