For the past week I have been debating the regressive left on Net Neutrality. I have not made any headway, but if I only measured my success by how many minds I changed, I would have quit long ago. I have been successful in getting my points posted in comments sections, what folks do with them is up to them.
Regulations are a weapon of the regressive left, because they don’t have to go to congress to get them passed, they can use their political clout to brow beat bureaucrats into submission. They never take a look at the big picture when it comes to regulations, if it didn’t take a law to enact them it doesn’t take one to remove them either.
First and foremost the US Congress has no constitutional authority to set up agencies like the FCC. Having cleared that up, the way congress works today they need to pass a law eliminating Net Neutrality, make it against the law for state and local government to create monopolies. Then they need to spend the $400 billion dollars they have taxed the users of the internet for broadband expansion. Competition will take care of the bad actors providing broadband, and then we can move onto more important things!!!
