Episode 934:
Subjective humanism is slowing taking over rational thought in American society today. It seem there are folks who want to govern us based on subjectivity. Some folks don’t like objective standards because they feel objective standards are out dated, or don’t account for ideas on the fringe of society.
In order to have any society flourish, there needs to standards in which we all live by. Almost every aspect of life has standards by which we make decisions, and live by. If they are objective standards, these will be standards that everyone can agree on and live by. Objective standards are based in fact and truth, and are the same all across a given society. We can build a stable society on objective standards.
If are standards are subjective, we can’t know from one minute to the next if we are living up to societies standards. When societies standards are not based in facts and truth, they can be whatever anybody wants them to be. If you build a society on subjective standards, no one will know from minute to minute if they are living up to or breaking that standard. And worse yet if these subjective standards have the force of law, how would anyone know if you are in violation of the law?
Daily Bible Reading: Jeremiah 1:4-8 Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying: 5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.” 6 Then said I: “Ah, Lord GOD! Behold, I cannot speak, for I am a youth.” 7 But the LORD said to me: “Do not say, ‘I am a youth,’ For you shall go to all to whom I send you, And whatever I command you, you shall speak. 8 Do not be afraid of their faces, For I am with you to deliver you,” says the LORD.
