Where does true compassion come from? Does it come from government programs set up to take care of the basic needs of folks who can’t or will not take care of those needs themselves? Or does it come from folks who care about other folks and want to see them succeed in life, not just exist? Let me make this as clear as I can, there are folks in our society that can not do for themselves, and some of those folks don’t have family or friends to help them. I don’t include these folks in any argument about society making sure they have the basics to exist.

To many folks in America can do for themselves but would rather have someone else pick up the tab. To many folks in America who fall into this category, see welfare as a way of life instead of a transitional period to self sufficiency.

The left in America sees it as compassion to set up government programs to take care the a fore mentioned folks who will not but can take care of themselves. That’s not compassion, that’s enabling!!!

Daily Bible reading: John 20:24-29 Now Thomas, called the Twin, one of the twelve, was not with them when Jesus came. 25 The other disciples therefore said to him, “We have seen the Lord.” So he said to them, “Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe.” 26 And after eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus came, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, “Peace to you!” 27 Then He said to Thomas, “Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing.” 28 And Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!” 29 Jesus said to him, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

Hello, my name is Dan Clements, and I host a live show every Friday from 12 noon-1pm ET every week. I also record a daily show that is posted in the afternoon. It's called The Dan Clements Show on YouTube and on my show page. The Dan Clements Show is a Christian/political talk show where we talk about the issues of the day from a Christian point of view. We cover all topics of a political nature, and sometimes some topics that are not. I try to keep the show lite, engaging, and easy to understand. I want people to come away from my show knowing that they have learned something new, or how to look at an issue from a different point of view. So please come and be apart of the conversation. I also upload 1-3 short videos Monday - Thursday, so be on the lookout for those videos as well!!! I'm a veteran of the US Navy and the Army National Guard. I have been married to my wonderful wife Lori for almost 32 years and have 2 children. I love my God and my country and am working hard to teach the truth about both.
