Contrary to modern popular belief, the founders of this great nation where not deist, they didn’t believe that God created everything and then just went away. Most if not all the men and woman of import in the founding era believed in God and were practicing Christians. George Washington was no exception. He mentions his beliefs in God and his written word on numerous occasions.
I think is is important that we view history in context. We do a disservice to ourselves and those who listen to us when we rewrite history, because we are to lazy to go and do the research and see what the context of a particular writers era, and ask who, what , when, where, and why!!!
