Episode 848: From the early in the 1900’s to today, the federal government has tried to stop Americans from using drugs and alcohol. For whatever reason Americans want to force other Americans to bend to their idea of moral living. The problem with forcing folks into a moral standard, it never works, and no matter what laws you pass you will never obtain your goals.
Morals have to be taught through reason and common sense, and even then, you may not change a person mind. Like most of what is important in life it must not only be taught, but it also must be learned and accepted by the person being taught. You can’t force folks to learn what you want them to!
The Us Constitution is a limiting document and only grants the federal government a few and well defined powers given to them by the states. And the framers were word smiths, and did a fantastic job of wording our founding documents so there wouldn’t any confusion. The confusion comes from men and women who want to wield power over We the People and make loopholes in the Constitution where there are none!!!
